KOFASIL® FQM

KOFASIL® FQM is an inoculant containing an ECPS-forming strain of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum). ECPS are substances that envelop the bacterium and protect it from the effects of unfavorable microorganisms in the silage, and support the assimilation of nutrients and moisture. The use of KOFASIL® FQM leads to an intensive formation of lactic acid in silage crops (e.g. grass, legumes), which quickly and significantly lowers the pH value. This suppresses the development of unwanted harmful bacteria such as clostridia and reduces dry matter and energy losses.

Scope of application:

Scope of application: Particularly suitable for improving the fermentation quality of silage produced from grass, legumes or their mixtures and green cereal plants.

Use:

KOFASIL® FQM is mixed with water and can be used immediately. The product is suitable for microdosing (20-50 ml/t). For optimal distribution, we recommend an application rate between 1 and 2 liters per ton of silage crop

Storage:

The product can be stored for 6 months from the date of production if stored in sealed original aluminum bags at room temperature (max. 20 °C) for 1 year in a refrigerator and for 2 years when frozen (-18 °C). The dissolved in water product must be used within 48 hours
