On the last weekend of August, part of the HL-TopMix team visited the 34th edition of the Farmer-Expo in Hungary. The campus of the University of Debrecen welcomed with hospitality the Hungarian countryside, farmers and animals, which together told a special story for the thousands of visitors.
László Vasko, manager of V-Trade Exhibitions Kft. and director of the expo, kicked off the exciting experiences by sharing, "Farmer-Expo has been the most important professional meeting place in the field of agriculture for decades, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand."
After the official ceremony, professional conferences were held throughout the day - lectures on the future of sheep farming, the challenges of fruit production and climate change, with the participation of the University of Debrecen and national professional organizations. Topics such as the future of the pork sector and the outlook for dairy farms were also discussed during the round tables. One of the highlights was the discussion "Women at the head of animal husbandry".
Throughout the weekend, the exhibition grounds were full of dynamics and emotions – spectacular competitions and demonstrations, judging of Limousin, Blonde d'Aquitaine and Charolais cattle, horse breeding demonstrations, as well as sheep and goat judging. The exciting moments continued with the spectacular parades for the breeding stock exhibitions, which turned the event into a real celebration for the farmers and guests. On the last day, the exhibition of the country's emblematic Komondor breed was held - the so-called Hungarian shepherd, created to protect herds from wolves.
We are happy to have been part of this significant international event, which brought us many new ideas and inspiration that we will keep with us back in Bulgaria.
